Am 16. Mai 1944 haben 6000 Roma und Sinti im Vernichtungslager Auschwitz-Birkenau erfolgreich gegen ihre Ermordung gewehrt haben. Daher symbolisiert der 16. Mai nicht nur den Widerstand der Roma gegen ihre Vernichtung und den Widerstand, den sie im Zweiten Weltkrieg gegen den Faschismus geleistet haben, sondern auch den Widerstand gegen Rassismus und Faschismus heute. Am 16. Mai ist Roma Resistance Day!

Die Demo beginnt um 17:30 an der Place du Luxembourg.

16 May 2022. Justice for Roma. Event, demo and networking in Brussels
On 16 May 1944, 6000 Roma and Sinti successfully resisted their murder in the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. Therefore, 16 May symbolises not only the resistance of Roma against their extermination and the resistance they made against fascism during the Second World War, but also the resistance against racism and fascism today. 16 May is Roma Resistance Day!

19:00 Networking meeting of Roma organisations in the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation building.
The KRRC is organising the event “Justice for Kosovo Roma” during the EU Roma Week, which will take place from 16 to 19 May 2022 at the European Parliament. More info here.
